Shooting Incidents Leave Two Injured in Gadsden

Shooting Incident 1An apparent dispute in Gadsden late Tuesday night – has left an 18 year old hospitalized. A short time after midnight Gadsden Police responded to the report of a person being treated for a gunshot wound at Riverview Regional Medical Center – and when they spoke with the teenager – who had suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot – he stated that he had been shot outside a home in the 200 block of Springdale Avenue at around 11:20pm – but didn’t know why shots were being fired.

Police were dispatched to Gadsden Regional Medical Center a short time later – after being notified that a 27 year old man was being treated for a gunshot wound there.

He also told police he had been in the area of Springdale Avenue, and he had been standing in front of a home, when a friend became involved in a verbal altercation with another man – who pulled a gun and fired off two rounds.

The victim said he didn’t even realize he’d been wounded until he got home, at which point he went to the hospital; no information was available regarding his wound.

No arrest has yet been made in connection with the incidents and the investigation into the matter is on-going.
