Poor Spelling Lands Forgery Suspect in Jail

MoyetAttention to spelling is a big part of Forgery 101 for criminals, and a Huntsville woman that stands accused of counterfeiting checks from a Marshall County business, recently failed to score a passing grade.

Washburn stated that Maria Teresa Moyet was picked up over the weekend on a grand jury indictment for two counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument.

The incident occurred back in July when Moyet took two forged $500 checks, one to a local Foodland Store and one to Warehouse Grocery, and cashed them.

Both checks came back to the stores and that’s when police were called.

Moyet currently remains behind bars with bond set at $50,000.
