The town of Ider is reportedly on the receiving end of a lawsuit – filed by Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange and the Department of Environmental Management.

The suit contends that the town’s wastewater treatment facility, which is situated next to a housing project, has been putting out pollutants at a greater level than allowed by permits; furthermore, the town is accused of failing to submit non-compliance reports regarding the levels.

The suit claims that the pollutants are finding their way into area streams and waterways – thus far, city leaders have not issued a reply.
