Two-Vehicle Accident Involving Log Truck on Highway 68 Monday Morning / UPDATED

IMG_1205One person was shaken up during a two-vehicle accident that involved a passenger car and a log truck on Highway 68 Monday morning just before 8:00.

The accident took place approximately a mile-and-a-half from the Gaylesville four way stop on Highway 68 heading toward Georgia – when a 2001 Nissan driven by 34 year old Randy Joe Cromer of Gaylesville, and a 2000 Peterbilt log truck driven by Kalum Lee Hill of Centre came too close as they were traveling in opposite directions.

The impact caused extensive damage to the Nissan, however it appeared that Cromer was merely shaken up – and according to emergency personnel on the scene he was going to be taken to the hospital by private vehicle in order to be checked out.

Cromer was the sole occupant of the car; Hill, who was driving the log truck, was unhurt.
