Guntersville Middle School Dealing with Faulty Heating System

Guntersville School 1WAFF TV48 reports that a faulty heating system has resulted in temperatures inside some of the classrooms at Guntersville Middle School registering only in the upper 50’s.

Children are being encouraged to bring blankets to class.

School officials say they’ve been trying to get that system back on-line before cold weather arrived – however, the early temperature drop caught everyone off-guard.

Space heaters have been brought in while repairs to the system are being made – and while the temperatures range anywhere from 58 to 70 degrees in the various rooms – on average room temperatures are between 62 and 64.

Angered at the lack of notification from school officials regarding the situation – one parent summed it up this way:

School officials are saying they hope the problem will be corrected within the next couple of weeks.
