Two individuals had to be rescued from the very frigid waters of Weiss Lake late Tuesday morning after their boat drifted away from them while the two were scouting for duck near Hogg Island at approximately 10:30.
WEIS Radio spoke with Marine Police Officer Eric Watson following the incident:
Cherokee County Rescue Squad members, Cherokee EMS Paramedics and Cherokee County Deputies, in addition to Alabama Marine Police, responded to the scene.
Alabama Marine Police are in charge of the incident.
