Walnut Avenue in Rome was blocked for a short time this (Monday) morning – following a single-vehicle accident that occurred shortly after 9:00. Rome Police reports indicated that the female driver lost control of her Honda while traveling south on Walnut – struck a mail box and then hit a utility pole, knocking it to the ground.
The woman was treated at the scene and was not sent to the hospital; her only injury being from her seat belt.
It’s unclear what caused the woman to lose control of the vehicle.
