A 21 year old Rainbow City man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident occurring over the weekend. Kyllan Clark Smith has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a 17 year old on Saturday night.
Officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at South Town Apartments, around 7:30 that evening, where they found the victim inside a vehicle; he was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, along with other injuries.
He was transported to Birmingham for treatment.
Based on eyewitness descriptions, law enforcement initiated a search and soon found a .22 caliber revolver; Smith was found hiding in the bushes behind a nearby apartment building and taken into custody.
He remains in the Etowah County Detention Center.
No information regarding a possible motive for the shooting has yet been released.
