Cedar Bluff Boys & Girls Head Basketball Coach Joe Carpenter paid a visit to the studios on Wednesday morning to speak with WEIS Radio Sports Analyst Kurt Duryea, regarding the upcoming basketball season in Cherokee County.

Carpenter has over 500 victories as a head basketball coach – and Wednesday’s discussion covered competing in Class 1-A, Area 12 – pulling “double duty” as coach of both the Tigers Boys and Girls teams – and the task of hosting this year’s county tournament.

Coach Carpenter has multiple state titles with the Cedar Bluff Boys and Girls Track Teams – as well as leading the boys basketball team to back-to-back Class 1-A Runner-Up finishes in 2011 and 2012.

Carpenter along with the famed Brian Cain authored the book “The Mental Game of Basket-ball: Playing the Game One Play at a Time” is currently available on amazon.com
