Boaz Man Charged with Burglary After Leaving Driver’s License at the Scene

AmosAccording to information contained in the recent news release from Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin – 32 year old Rickey Ray Amos has been charged with one count of Burglary 3rd Degree and one count of Theft of Property 2nd Degree, in connection with a break in on November 3rd on Warrior Valley Road.

Amos allegedly stole a number of items, including a Husqvarna backpack leaf blower, a pair of Stihl chainsaws, a sawzall, two nail guns and other miscellaneous tools, with a combined value of more than $1,300.

Deputies arrived at the home and found a flash night with the name Rickey Amos engraved on it and a wallet containing the suspect’s driver’s license.

They also found a vehicle registered to Amos – parked a short distance from the home with all of the stolen items still inside. Investigators later found Amos at a residence in Marshall County, and at the time he had two handguns in his possession which violated conditions of his probation.

He was taken into custody at the scene and charged with being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm prior to being taken to the Marshall County Jail.

Amos will be transferred to Etowah County at a later date.
