Authorities are still searching for a suspect who shot and wounded a man at a Floyd County hotel on Sunday night. According to Rome Police reports, a Marietta man was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg following a dispute with another man over a woman.
After hearing gunshots – officers arrived at the Economy Inn on Martha Berry Boulevard to find a silver Ford Explorer leaving the scene.
The victim, who was inside the vehicle – quickly explained the situation, and described the gunman as a black male with short dreadlocks, weighing around 300 pounds.
After questioning witnesses police viewed video surveillance showing a man matching that description firing shots at the Explorer.
The investigation into the matter is on-going.
