A correctional officer at Hays State Prison in Chattooga County was arrested on Friday and charged with Enticing a Minor for Indecent Purposes.
Sheriff Mark Schrader says that 22 year old Cherokee County (Alabama) resident Benjamin Moore was brought in for questioning regarding an inappropriate relationship that he was allegedly having with a 14 year old.
Schrader said Moore confessed to sending the child photos of a sexually explicit nature.
Investigators obtained a search warrant in Chattooga County to search Moore’s cell phone – they then obtained a warrant to search his home here in Cherokee County for additional evidence.
Moore was booked into the Chattooga County Jail Friday with bond set at $50,000.
