Massive Warehouse Fire in North Rome

Rome Blaze 1Firefighters are expected to remain on the scene of a massive warehouse fire in North Rome throughout the day today (Tuesday)

According to Battalion Chief Brad Roberson, firefighters responded to the fire on Forsyth Street off of North Broad at around 11:45 Monday night.

“The 65,000 square foot building was fully involved upon our arrival. We did have multiple fire units come in and we actually had to call in some off duty people to man the reserve trucks. The fire did spread to some adjacent buildings, as far as a residential structure and also a couple of warehouses at the old mill manufacturing building.”

The fire completely destroyed the structure.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
