An 85 year old Centre man was airlifted to an area Trauma Center after apparently being struck by a vehicle on Alexis Road in Centre.

Details are unclear at this time; however Cherokee County 911 received the call just after 6:00 Monday afternoon reporting an individual lying in a driveway.

According to Officials with Cherokee EMS the victim was being picked up by a friend when that individual accidentally ran him over.

Cherokee EMS Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a landing zone at Cedar Bluff High School where a Life Force Helicopter transported him to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
