A man allegedly behind an insurance scam has been arrested in Oxford.

David Anthony King, age 53 from Jacksonville was arrested in the wake of a complaint by a woman who claimed that she paid homeowners insurance to King for more than a year, but actually had no insurance policy on file.

King was charged with felony Theft by Deception. He has since been released after making his $15,000 bond.

In light of that situation, Oxford Police have issued a warning to those who may have done business with King in the past – saying they should check their policy.

Anyone believing they may not have the coverage they’ve been paying for – should contact the Oxford Police Department to file a report – and they should bring along their insurance paperwork when doing so.
