Crews To Begin Painting Secondary Bridges On Highway 9 In Cedar Bluff

State Department Of Transportation Supervisor Mark Terry says that crews are in the final stages of painting the Cedar Bluff Bridge – crews will now focus their attention on painting the two smaller reserve bridges just West of the Cedar Bluff Bridge, more commonly known as the Short-Cut Bridge and Blackwell’s Bridge.

Blackwell's BridgeTerry said that boaters and fisherman need to be aware that when crews move their containment system onsite there will be ZERO clearance underneath these bridges and in order for you to pass over onto the opposite side of the lake you will need to go underneath the Cedar Bluff Bridge.

Caution lights will be placed under both bridges at night to warn boaters – Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden says that he is in the process of contacting the Montgomery Office of the Alabama Marine Police in order to have a Marine Police Officer Patrolling the area to deter people away from the site until the work is complete.

Shortcut BridgeAgain, boaters and fisherman are advised not to pass underneath either of these bridges until the work is complete as there will be zero clearance due to the construction being done.
