Public Intoxication Arrest Leads to Burglary Cases Being Solved

Owens A combination of concerned citizens filing reports, and a suspect that chose to indulge a bit too much – resulted in investigators solving several burglary cases in DeKalb County.

32 year old Thaddeus Keith Owens of Crossville was arrested by sheriff’s office deputies at the Kilpatrick Fire Department, after being found leaning against the building – apparently under the influence of an unknown substance.

Law enforcement officials had received several calls reporting the man who appeared to be intoxicated while walking down County Road 370.

After being booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center on Public Intoxication charges – investigators and members of the Crossville PD gathered evidence indicating that Owens was regarded as a suspect in several recent break-in’s along the County Road 370 area.

Following an interview Owens was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree; afterwards property that had been stolen was recovered and returned to the rightful owners.
