Coty Blanchard and Hudson Valley Renegades Claim Division Championship

"Hudson Valley Renegades v Williamsport Crosscutters 08/08/14"Former Cherokee County and Jacksonville State multi-sport standout Coty Blanchard completed the 2014 regular season campaign with the Hudson Valley Renegades. The Renegades are a Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball organization. Hudson Valley were the McNamara Division champions in the New York-Penn League finishing with an overall won-loss record of 46-30. The Renegades post season play begins on Wednesday when they host the State College Spikes.   The best of three series then shifts to State College on Thursday and an “if necessary” game on Friday.

Blanchard finished the regular season with a .298 batting average, 15 doubles, 5 triples and 2 home runs. Blanchard’s 22 stolen bases were the second best in the NY-Penn League while he was 6th overall in batting average, 4th in triples, 11th best in with 105 total bases, and 6th with 74 hits.
