One Cherokee County elementary school teacher decided to “take the bull by the horns” by writing her first grant – and apparently she’s quite good at it because her action resulted in Centre Elementary School receiving almost $10,000 through the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama “Be Healthy School Grant Program”.
WEIS Radio spoke with teacher Megan Hester following the check presentation on Tuesday
Centre Elementary was chosen as one of the 25 schools across the state this year to receive grant money – more than a quarter of a million dollars has been granted to schools through that program since its inception in 2011.
