Bond Hearing for Man Charged with Attempted Murder Set for Friday

Jeremee Bernard GriffinCalhoun County District Judge Chris McIntyre has re-scheduled the bond hearing for a Georgia man charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting of a JSU student in June

That hearing was moved from earlier in the week to this Friday (August 1st) at 10:00am.

21 year old Douglasville, Georgia resident Jeremee Griffin turned himself in to police July 22nd and at that point in time, was charged with attempted murder and first degree robbery; he stands accused of shooting 22 year old Vilas Patel during a June 16th robbery on Mountain Street.

Patel was air-lifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment and according to the Anniston Star is recovering from his wounds.

Griffin’s attorney is seeking to have his client’s cash-only bond amounts lowered – arguing that he is not a flight risk, since he had voluntarily turned himself in.
