A Rome man was arrested after running away from police and throwing a meth pipe in an incident around 3:00 pm on Friday. According to jail reports, Bobby Joe Tidwell Jr., 29, of a North Broad Street address, was told to stop when police spotted him walking on Reservoir Street.
The officer says he recalls Tidwell being banned from the area at one time. Police say Tidwell ran into a residence and threw a meth pipe, causing it to bust all over the floor.
Tidwell is charged with possession of methamphetamine.
