A board member for Rome’s River City Bank was fatally injured in a plane crash on Sunday.
The crash in Carrollton Georgia claimed the life of 70 year old Richard Haney and his 9 year old grandson, Jeffery Haney.
The National Transportation Safety Board released the names on Monday; the investigation into the crash is on-going; the small amateur-built plane was found in a wooded area Sunday evening with the wreckage spanning an area around 100 feet long and 50 feet wide – according to NTSB Investigators’.
The plane, which had no black box or recording equipment, reportedly struck a tree.
According to the River City Bank website – Richard Haney joined the bank in 2009, and he was identified as president and chief executive officer of Aviation Pursuits Inc and the Haney Family Partnership.
