One Hurt in Sand Rock Accident / UPDATED

Sand Rock Wreck 001One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident occurring in Sand Rock shortly after 11:00am Tuesday, after one of the vehicles rolled, and finally came to rest upside down in the ditch by the roadside.

According to the Alabama State Trooper accident report, that wreck, which took place on Highway 68 West at 176, involved a 1998 Ford driven by Collinsville resident Steven Moses, and a 2006 Nissan being driven by 59 year old Gary Mellon of Gadsden.

The accident report listed Mellon as being injured in that mishap, but no additional information regarding the extent of his injuries, or where he was taken for treatment, was noted in the report; Moses was unhurt.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation
