Georgia Man Arrested After Attempting to Elude Cherokee County Law Enforcement

CCSO - AlfordA Georgia man was arrested on Wednesday, following a chase which stretched across Cherokee County, into Etowah County, and then back into Cherokee before finally coming to an end.

According to information in a news release from Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a 35 year old Rome resident, Jeremy Todd Alford – refused to stop when deputies attempted to pull him over for speeding on County Road 71, at which point the chase began.

Alford was arrested and charged with Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.

He was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center at approximately 2:00pm and he was released shortly before 4:30pm after meeting his $500 bond.
