Esther Sprayberry Floyd Stephens

Esther Sprayberry Floyd Stephens, 82 of Centre, passed away Thursday, June 19th at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Nation officiating. Entombment will follow in the Cherokee Memory Garden Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 P.M. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Recreational Outreach Center (ROC) of Centre First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Ball; son, Randy (Renae) Floyd of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, David Ball, Brandie Floyd of Birmingham, Derrick (Cathy) Floyd of Norfolk, Virginia; great-grandchildren, William Ball, Justin and Payton Floyd; sister, Margaret Hall of Cedar Bluff, AL; Step-children, Debbie Weaver, Judy Webb, Jon Stephens, Laura Tutterow; 12 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren, and special friend, Rick Ferris of Chicago Heights, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Raymond Floyd and Ross Stephens, three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Stephens was born in Trion, GA to Tom and Lillie Cornelius Sprayberry. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Centre, AL. She was employed at Dean’s Pharmacy 24 years.

Mrs. Stephens was a lifetime member of the Alabama PTA. In the 1960’s was PTA President of Ann Cathy Elementary School in Gadsden, President of Gadsden City Council of PTA’s, and District Director of Northeast Alabama PTA’s, member of Lena Snead Sunday School Class, Blairtown Homemakers, and Trion High Alumni.
