Jacksonville Police continue their investigation into the shooting of a restaurant worker Monday night.

Witnesses told police that 22 year Vilas Rajesh Patel was at his home on Mountain Street, when he received a phone call; afterwards in drove just down the street to meet someone, and when he arrived back at his home he was suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

Police say the incident occurred at around 11:00pm.

It was revealed that Patel was air-lifted to UAB Hospital but no additional information regarding his condition has yet been released.
