A secretary to Floyd County Superior Court Judge Walter Matthews and a former Floyd County Superior Court Clerk were arrested on charges relating to the falsification of comments.

Carol Corbin, 55, of 156 Randall Road S.W., was a secretary to Matthews and is charged with four counts of false statements.

Fifty-one year old Connie Nadine May of 890 County Road 205, Centre, is charged with false statements, two counts of altering public documents and violation of oath by a public officer.

The two allegedly made false statements about records involving the release of two inmates in March, and then lied to investigators about it when questioned.

They were booked into the Floyd County Jail on Friday and released on their own recognizance.
