Mrs. Lois Elvenia DeBerry

Mrs. Lois Elvenia DeBerry, age 84, of Trion, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. DeBerry was born February 14, 1930, in Chavies, AL, daughter of the late Clifford Shankles and Ada Ann Reeves Shankles.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. DeBerry was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Lumpkin, Doris Payne, Faye Miller, and Mary Wade; brothers, George Wesley and Kelly Shankles; and a son-in-law, Rick Grosjean.

Mrs. DeBerry is survived by her husband, Rev. Sanford DeBerry; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Roni DeBerry; daughters and son-in-law, Sandi and Dale McCollum, Tracie Grosjean; Renita Chambers and Tony Carnes; a sister, Mae Morgan; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. DeBerry will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 14, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Norton and Rev. Steve Spears officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be James DeBerry, Dale McCollum, Allen Chambers, Ryan DeBerry, Don Morgan, and Steve Cohen.

Mrs. DeBerry will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday.

Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
