This Sunday’s concert by the group Alabama will mark the first time that the band has actually staged a full scale show in Ft Payne since the final June Jam back in 1997.
The concert will be held in the parking lot of the Alabama Fan Club & Museum at the South Y –and will kick-off at 2:00 that afternoon. Proceeds from the event will go to help those in need in DeKalb County.
In addition to the Sunday show, there will be a “Fandemonium on the Farm” event at the Randy Owen farm – with gates opening at 12:00 noon and a performance set for 5:00pm complete with an autograph session to follow.
There will also be a “Fan Daze” concert featuring Jeff Cook and the All-Star Goodtime Band at the DeKalb Theater in downtown Ft Payne.
We caught up with Jeff earlier in the week and asked him what those attending that show could expect:
Doors will open at 5:00pm with the show starting at 6:30. Those tickets are $20.00 each and can be picked at the DeKalb Theater Box Office.
We also asked Jeff about Alabama’s recent appearance on the TV show “The Voice”, when they performed Mountain Music with Jake Worthington in front of an estimated ten million viewers –
Worthington eventually finished as the runner-up in this year’s competition.
Jeff also gave us some insight into several new projects the group is currently working on:
