Strong thunderstorms rolled through the Weiss Lake area on Tuesday afternoon, dumping heavy rain and hail – causing damage in some locations.
Strong storms triggered several weather advisories – with trees being reported down in several areas, especially in the northern portion of Cherokee County.
Trained Storm Spotters with the EMA Office reported trees being down in the areas of – County Roads 99, 60 and 94 in the Broomtown Community and along County Road 635 in Gaylesville.
Several people reported hail ranging from pea to nickel size between Centre and Leesburg.
EMA Director Beverly Daniel informed WEIS Radio News that a tree fell on a mobile home in the Adrian Gwynn Mobile Park in Leesburg.
Residents were reportedly at home at the time – fortunately however, no one was hurt.
