Sports Hall of Fame Inductee V.L. Crane to Visit WEIS Radio Studios / UPDATED

V.L. Crane

On Friday morning, V.L. Crane will join us in the WEIS Radio studios.

Crane is part of the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2014 – which includes Doug Palmer of Cedar Bluff, Sand Rock Coach Russell Jacoway and Cherokee County’s Ronnie Whorton and Robert Thornton.

Crane was a three sport star at Gaylesville High School – playing football, basketball and baseball.

At 5’8” tall Crane relied on speed, strength, skill and a natural game sense to overcome the giants of his era.

The 10th Anniversary Class will be honored Saturday at 6:00pm at the Gadsden State Arena in Centre.

Tickets are currently available at the Chamber of Commerce Office and the Cherokee County Historical Museum today for $20.   If you purchase them at the door on the night of the event the cost is $30.
