Mr. Fred W. Bryant

Mr. Fred W. Bryant, age 91 of Cedar Bluff, AL and formerly of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2014.

Mr. Bryant was born on September 25,1922 in Fairmount, GA a son of the late Mr. Enis Bryant and the late Mrs. Lula Finley Bryant. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Annie Ruth Stanford Bryant in 2007, his son in law; Bob Rylee and by twelve brothers and sisters.

Mr. Bryant was a veteran proudly serving with the United States Air Force during WWII and Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Master Sargent during his twenty plus years of service. He had the distinction of serving with the 449th Bomber Group. During WWII he was captured and was held as a POW in one of Germany’s stalaog POW’s camps. Following his retirement from the military, he worked as a flight mechanic with Lockheed-Martin Marietta until his retirement.

Fred Bryant is survived by his son; Robert “Bob” Bryant, his daughter; Freda Rylee, his sister; Ovilee Bryant Bishop, his granddaughter; Vicki Lynn, his great grandchildren; Rebecca Szelez and Samantha Lynn. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Fred W. Bryant will be conducted on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Cedartown with Rev. Dr. Bob Wadsworth officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Air Force Military Honors Detail at the church.

Interment will follow in the Little Vine Cemetery in Bremen, GA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home.
