The charges against the mother of five year old Heaven Woods have officially been upgraded to murder, according to a spokesperson for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Amanda Hendrickson and her alleged boyfriend, Roderick Buckner have both been charged with aggravated battery and murder.
Hendrickson and Heaven had moved to Forsyth in early May from Rome to live with Buckner.
Hendrickson has a history with the Department of Family & Children Services in Floyd County, according to a GBI news release.
First responders reported that the small child wasn’t breathing when they arrived at the home on Brookwood Drive in Forsyth on May 20th.
The couple had been arrested and charged with first degree cruelty to children – prior to those charges being upgraded.
Investigators say Heaven died from blunt force trauma to the stomach and she had both new and old injuries.
