Etowah County authorities are looking for an inmate who escaped from the county jail Saturday morning.

According to a news release, 46 year old Vincente Castaneda left the Etowah County Detention Center about 4:30 a.m. through a gate near the kitchen, where he was a worker.

Deputies found his jail clothing shortly after the escape.

Castaneda shaved his head a few days ago.

A news release said Castaneda was in jail on charges of selling counterfeit items.

His last known address was 100 Project Avenue, Collinsville.

An inmate who was a kitchen worker escaped last year but was quickly recaptured.
