Grady “Babe” Crane, age 83 of Centre, passed away Sunday, May 25th at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3:PM Wednesday, May 28th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Leon Smith and Rev. John Allen officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3:PM Wednesday.
Pallbearers include Cory Hansard, Casey Hansard, Blake Wester, Jeremy Crane, Danny Smith, Chad Wester, Billy Crane.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hampton-Hincy Sunday School Class and Jack’s Breakfast Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Aimee (Scott) Stephens of Piedmont; grandson, Wade Stephens of Piedmont; former wife and special friend, Marlene Nixon; step-daughter, Lola Johnston of Centre; step-granddaughter, Claire Johnston (Drew) Gossett; several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Crane was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Grady and Lucille Crane, was a heavy equipment operator for the county highway department and was a member of East Centre Baptist Church.
Donations may be made to East Centre Baptist Church or the family will accept flowers.
