Memorial Day Celebrations Held Across Cherokee County

The staff and management at Leesburg Guns and Pro Tackle kicked off the Memorial Day Holiday with a bang on Saturday with their yearly Memorial Day Celebration Event held in Leesburg.

A large number of area residents turned out for the event which featured food, fun and games for the kids, and American Red Cross Blood Drive and much more.

State Senator Phil Williams was on hand for Saturday’s activities with a meet greet with constituents.

A gigantic Memorial Day Celebration also took place on Saturday in McCord’s Crossroads community.
That event kicked off with a parade starting from the McCord’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department Station #1 – near the intersection of Cherokee County Roads 157 and 16.

There was a salute to living and deceased veterans – and current military members and their families; as well as activities for all ages throughout the day, including a BBQ and inflatables for the kids –live music and a number of special guest speakers.

Saturday’s event was organized by the McCord’s Crossroads Homemakers & Community Leaders Club and Keith Baldwin with American Auctioneers.
