Smith Institute 1Etowah County is making its way back to its feet nearly one month after tornadoes hit several communities. Broken trees and debris piled feet high are what you see in some parts of Etowah County. The scene is almost the same as last year.

It’s been nearly a month since the tornadoes hit and Bryant says clean-up and recovery are well underway. Slowly but surely houses are being reconstructed and fallen trees are being removed.

Piles of what used to be houses will gone eventually, Bryant says that soon enough residents will get back on their feet.

FEMA has a disaster relief center for those who need assistance with questions about disaster relief aid however that center is scheduled to close sometime later this week.
