Cherokee County played host to one of the largest Armed Forces Days events in a number of years with current military personnel, veterans, law enforcement, first responders, state and local dignitaries and many others taking part in the event.
Centre Mayor Tony Wilkie shared his thoughts on the day’s events –
A number of local candidates vying for local offices were also given an opportunity to share a few words of thanks to the veterans in attendance and to talk briefly about the offices in which they were running for.
David Hartline, Vice-Commander for the American Legion in the State is responsible for organizing the event and was commended by all for his hard work and effort in making Saturday’s event such a success.
