According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a death has occurred at the Cherokee County Detention Center.
On Monday Sheriff Shaver called-in the State Bureau of Investigation to investigate the apparent suicide.
Both the Coroner’s Office and District Attorney’s Office are providing assistance.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
