A man reported to police that he had been robbed at knifepoint, by two men outside a downtown Gadsden bar on Wednesday night.
The 62 year old complainant stated that he was walking in the area of Chestnut Street on South 4th Street at around 9:15pm when he was approached by two men in their 30’s, both over six feet tall, asking for a cigarette.
After the man told them that he didn’t smoke, he said they grabbed him – then kicked him in the stomach – and while one man held him down, the other slashed his arm with a knife.
The pair allegedly stole $2,600 in cash from the victim and fled the scene in a silver car – either a Camry or a Taurus, according to the police report.
The investigation into the incident is on-going.
