The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office has terminated the employment of three-year veteran Deputy Sheriff Jerry Duke – who was also the Accreditation Manager.
According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, Duke had been the subject of a week-long investigation into allegations of misconduct – related to a complaint filed against him by a Floyd County couple regarding their teenage daughter.
Duke was found to be in violation of the Sheriff’s Office Policies for – Code of Ethics, Conduct Unbecoming a Deputy, Immoral Conduct, Unsatisfactory Performance, Insubordination and the Truthfulness section.
He was additionally in violation of the Sheriff’s Office Policies relating to Off Duty/Extra Duty Employment.

Caldwell went on to say that the termination did not stem only from this particular incident – adding that there have been three internal investigations over the last nine months in connection with various incidents.
Duke has ten days to file an appeal of the action with the Floyd County Personnel Board.
