Southside Woman Charged with Chemical Endangerment of a Child

A Southside woman has been arrested on a charge of Chemical Endangerment of a Child.

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin said 27 year old Amanda Leigh Johnson, who is three and a half months pregnant, failed a drug test required by the Etowah County Court Referral Office – testing positive for both amphetamine and methamphetamine.

She has been charged with a felony count of Chemical Endangerment of “Exposing a Child to an Environment in which Controlled Substances are Ingest, Produced or Distributed”.

Johnson is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
