Mr. Michael Laney, age 62 of Centre, passed away Friday, April 4th at UAB Hospital.
Funeral services will be 3: PM Wednesday, April 9th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. George Cobb and Rev. Kenneth Boles officiating; burial will follow in Howell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:30 P.M. Wednesday.
Pallbearers include Danny Hill, Ricky Ridgeway, Stevie Kines, Fred Mackway, Tommy Laney, Mark Snead, Darrin Jordan, Jeff Chandler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clifton Waters, Craig Payne, Dr. Narash Bellan & nurses & staff.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Elliott Laney; daughters, Misty (Bill) Smith of Forney, Kasie (Nicholas) Hairrell of Jacksonville; brother, Harold Laney of Hokes Bluff; sisters, Barbara Shaw of Cedar Bluff, Linda Meadows of Collinsville, Mary Lee Tucker of Centre; grandchildren, Briley Smith, Zane Hairrell; several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Laney was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late George Harold and Mary Elizabeth Payne Laney, was a foreman and pipeline welder for Dekalb Cherokee Gas for 33 years, and was a member of Moshat Baptist Church.
