Centre Resident Hurt in Highway 9 Accident

A Centre resident was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 9 south in Cherokee County early Sunday afternoon.

According to the Alabama State Troopers Post at Jacksonville that accident took place at 2:30pm near mile marker 256 and involved a 2005 Dodge and a 1998 Mercury.

The driver of the Dodge, identified as 31 year old Robert Reed, was listed as being injured in that mishap, while the driver of the Mercury was unhurt.

No additional information regarding the condition of Reed was available.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
