According to a news release from Floyd County Police, at approximately 2:42 p.m. Saturday, during a search for Joshua Eugene Ferguson, skeletal remains were found on top of a heavily wooded hilltop about 1.5 miles from the Incident Command Post that had been set up on Spout Springs Rd.
The search was conducted as a joint effort with the Floyd County Police Department, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd County Sheriff’s Community Posse, Alpha Search &Rescue Dog Team, West Georgia Mounted Search and Rescue Team and additional cadaver dog search teams from Alabama.
Positive identification will be made by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation pending the autopsy.
