Mrs. Grace Matthews Kerr, age 75, of 8750 County Road 16,Centre, passed away Wednesday April 2, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Kerr was born October 9, 1938, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Otis Matthews, and Ruby Morgan Matthews. She was a member of Old Nazareth Baptist Church. Mrs. Kerr was employed my Advance Glove Mill for many years and retired from Pharr Yarns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvel Lee “Jamup” Kerr, a sister, Betty Kerr, and a great grandchild, Hunter Elrod.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Wayne and Janice Kerr, Centre; brothers, Harland (Martha) Matthews, Centre; Johnny Matthews, Cave Spring; Jerry (Cathy) Matthews, Centre; sister, Glenda (Sonny) Gill, Centre; grandchildren, Gary Kerr, Sandy Spurlock, Jason Kerr, Misti Blaylock, Robin Pearson, Michelle Roland, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M.(CST) Saturday April 5, 2014 at Old Nazareth Baptist Church, with Rev. Shawn Sims, and Rev. Doyle Kerr, officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 p.m.(CST) on Saturday April 5, 2014 at Old Nazareth Baptist Church.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the church by 11:30 AM (CST) on Saturday, Jadon DeBoard, Darrell Steele, Steve Pledger, Brandon Roland, Jerry Kerr, and Joey Gill.
Honorary pallbearer will be R. W. Kerr and Toby Rogers.
