There’s some good economic news for northeast Alabama – and Anniston in particular – as more than 350 jobs will be created, due to an Anniston business expansion which was announced back in January (2014); that’s 150 more jobs than had originally been anticipated.
According to the Anniston Star, during a Monday work session, Anniston City Council members learned that International Automotive Components at McClellan, may possibly generate as many as 359 new manufacturing jobs due to a $22 million expansion.
The company, which injects plastic into molds to create automotive parts, currently employs 270 workers.
Reportedly, 200 new jobs will come within the first two years of that project, with another 150 in the third year.
No word yet on when hiring for the new positions will begin.
