Boaz Man Charged with Murder Following Fatal Auto Accident

Roach, Brandon

25 year old Brandon Roach of Boaz, has been arrested by Alabama State Troopers – and charged with murder in connection with the death of 24 year old Joanie Amanda Patterson, also of Boaz – who was fatally injured in a car crash, in which Roach was driving.

That wreck took place on Monday (March 3rd) at approximately 6:00pm when the vehicle Roach was driving left the roadway and struck an embankment.

The accident occurred on Sand Valley Road, roughly ten miles west of Attalla.

Patterson – who was a passenger in the vehicle – was killed with Roach suffering serious injuries which resulted in his being air-lifted to UAB.

According to a news release from Sergeant Steve Jarrett, with the Alabama Department of Public Safety, a preliminary investigation has indicated that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, and seat belts were not in use.

Brandon Roach was placed under arrest Wednesday and placed in the Etowah County Detention, with bond being set at $50,000.

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
