Two people were hurt in a single-vehicle wreck in Cherokee County Wednesday morning.
That accident occurred on Highway 273 south of 81 at approximately 9:15am – involving a 2001 Chevrolet being driven by 32 year old Rainsville resident Anthony Thomas.
Emergency personnel, including the Tucker’s Chapel and Broomtown Fire Departments, quickly arrived on the scene – with a helicopter landing zone being set up at the intersection of 273 and Highway 35. Thomas was air-lifted from the scene to UAB in Birmingham for treatment.
The Alabama State Trooper accident report also listed a passenger – 18 year old Dalton Farr – as being hurt as well.
There was no additional information available regarding the extent of his injuries.
The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.
