In between winter weather events, the Centre City Council held a quick meeting Tuesday where they voted to purchase a new patrol vehicle for the police department.

The Chevy Tahoe will replace a Ford Crown Vic that was totaled in a fatal wreck in December.

Mayor Tony Wilkie explained.

The 38-thousand dollar Tahoe is being purchased from a dealership in Boaz.

The city settled up with the insurance company to the tune of 8-thousand dollars for the Crown Vic that was lost in the wreck.
